The {Stamps} of Life is owned and operated by Stephanie Barnard.  They feature high quality, made in the USA, clear stamps and digital stamps/brushes for stampers, card makers and scrapbookers.  Their clear stamps ship for only $1 per set in the U.S. and $1.50 to Canada with a maximum of $4 to the U.S. and $6 to Canada per order.  They also offer their stamps digitally. The digital stamps include 3 different formats so they can be used with almost any graphic software: jpg, png, and abr (Photoshop brushes).  Digital stamps are emailed to customers in less than 12 hours after an order.  The {Stamps} of Life also offers a club membership that provides discounts on stamps to members and first dibs on special releases.

Stephanie Barnard began scrapbooking and rubber stamping in 1997 and became a professional designer two years later.  Since then, her work has been published more than 400 times in magazines, books and company websites.  Stephanie has worked for various manufacturers in the past and is now realizing her dream, owning her own company, utilizing her extensive talents in photography, product development, design, teaching and video production. Her instructional videos, in which she teaches techniques and projects utilizing stamps, appear on numerous websites.

This challenge requires you to create a birthday-theme project. You can incorporate the theme in many ways, such as a card, scrapbook layout, mini book, tag, gift bag, box, etc. The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. For suggested colors, see Papertrey Ink’s enchanted evening, dark chocolate, raspberry fizz, and new leaf.   Slight color changes for each hue are permitted, but try to keep the colors as close as possible to the colors listed above.  White or cream are optional color choices to add to your projects to create neutrality. Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.

Don’t forget:

  1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and
  2. Create a birthday project (i.e., card, invitation, altered item, etc.)

You have until Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST to submit your entries below.

The photos used in the graphic: pinata, floral bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets

Upload a photo of your project to your blog or online gallery, such as Splitcoaststampers, Flickr, or Papertrey Ink, then copy the direct link to your project to the embedded link widget below. If you do not have a direct link to your blog/gallery posting that features the challenge, your link may be deleted. If it is deleted, no biggie, just come back and re-link the correct link! Only links left in the link widget will be considered for challenge submissions.

NOTE: **We are trying a new widget as a result of experiencing outages with the other widget.  However, if the widget fails due to technical error, please try later or if it is towards the end of the challenge, then post your link as a comment to this post.**

We also have a Flickr Group available to share your projects. Please add your projects to Embellish Magazine Flickr group.

If you want to use the graphic above, feel free to, but make sure you right-click and choose the “Save Image As” choice to save it to your computer, then upload to your blog!

After the challenge ends, the design team will select six designers who created hot projects to highlight. Additionally, there will be a designer who will be featured and will win the HappyBday2You stamp set.  The featured designers and the winner will be posted next week. The winner must contact Embellish Magazine within 48 hours of the announcement. We reserve the right to select a new winner if the designer makes no contact.

I used the digital sprinkle images and created the patterned paper.  I also stamped on felt to create a hybrid card.

Charlene used the stamps and create a vibrant cupcake card with dry embossing and stitching embellishments.

Maile stamped the mini cupcakes in a graphic style and embellished her card with a large button.

Mariana embellished her cupcake card with an embossed background, stitching, and paper piercing.

Sarah used the stamps to make a glitter cupcake.

Tina created a digital card and used the balloons and sentiments to make someone’s birthday very happy.

Challenge ends Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 11:59 PM EST

Thanks for another fun color challenge! I also want to say that Inlinkz is a fantastic alternative from Mr. Linky. I used Inlinkz for my own challenge after Mr. Linky disappeared. Inlinkz is user-friendly and stable! Have fun linking up!
