• Embellish Borders Color Challenge :: Sponsored by Verve Stamps

Verve Stamps manufactures their own line of high quality clear stamps designed and illustrated by Verve founder, Julee Tilman. Julee’s designs feature timeless elegance, meaningful sentiments and a hint of modern whimsy. Verve stamps are available exclusively through this website, and cannot be found in any retail stores.  Verve stamps are made of high quality clear photopolymer right here in the USA. They are made of a naturally sticky substance that allows them to cling to acrylic blocks, which you can find at many local and online craft stores.

Verve is very active in the stamping community.  They host monthly Project Parade contests on the Verve Blog, as well as the weekly Mojo Monday sketch challenge on theMojo Monday Blog. They also routinely check out their SCS company gallery, so upload your Verve creations using keyword Verve.

This challenge requires you to create a project that includes one or more borders. You can incorporate the theme in many ways, such as a card, scrapbook layout, mini book, tag, gift bag, box, etc. The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. For suggested colors, see Papertrey Ink’s spring moss, lemon tart, sweet blush, melon berry.   Slight color changes for each hue are permitted, but try to keep the colors as close as possible to the colors listed above.  White or cream are optional color choices to add to your projects to create neutrality. Outlined images in brown or black are also acceptable for this challenge.  Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.

    Don’t forget:

    1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and
    2. Use borders (i.e., border punches, die cuts from patterned paper kits, dies, stamps, etc.)

You have until Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST to submit your entries below.

NOTE: **If you are having difficulties with our new link widget, please click the question mark link to get help from their blog.  They offer useful step-by-step instructions.

We also have a Flickr Group available to share your projects. Please add your projects to Embellish Magazine Flickr group.

If you want to use the graphic above, feel free to, but make sure you right-click and choose the “Save Image As” choice to save it to your computer, then upload to your blog!

After the challenge ends, the design team will select six designers who created hot projects to highlight. Additionally, there will be a designer who will be featured and will win the stamps pictured below.  The featured designers and the winner will be posted next week. The winner must contact Embellish Magazine within 48 hours of the announcement. We reserve the right to select a new winner if the designer makes no contact.

Just a quick question…the details section says it needs to be birthday themed? Is that for sure, or is that from the last challenge? Thanks for clarifying!

Hi Lea….whoops…I think that is a mistake on the details section. It does NOT have to be a specific theme. The requirements on this challenge will be the colours above and the use of BORDERS.

Ashley is already travelling to her vacation and I am not sure she will be able to access that from her iphone but thanks for catching that! Can’t wait to see your creation.
