Embellish Butterflies Color Challenge :: Sponsored by Skipping Stones Design
21 Comments »Posted in ChallengeMay 21, 2010
Skipping Stones Design (SSD) is a stamp company whose mission is to help paper crafters share the gift of laughter one stamp at a time. SSD started in 2005 and has a variety of stamps in their online store to attract all paper crafters. Their stamps are photopolymer high quality clear stamps and priced just right. On their blog, SSD challenges crafters with a sketch every week.

This challenge requires you to create a project using butterflies. Butterflies may be stamped, die cut, punched or on patterned paper! You can incorporate the theme in many ways, such as a card, scrapbook layout, mini book, tag, gift bag, box, etc. The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image. Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.
Don’t forget:
1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and
2. Use butterflies.
You have until Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST to submit your entries below.

After the challenge ends, the design team will select six designers who created hot projects to highlight. Additionally, there will be a designer who will be featured and will win three stamp sets, including Garden Stamp Kiss, Whispering Wings, and Healing Wings. The featured designers and the winner will be posted the week following the challenge end date. The winner must contact Embellish Magazine within 48 hours of the announcement. We reserve the right to select a new winner if the designer makes no contact.

Ashley used the Healing Wings stamp set to create her gratitude card.
Charlene used Healing Wings + Dandelion Dreams stamp set and created this cute fluttering card.
Maile used the Healing Wings stamp set to emboss the butterfly and stamp it with Copic markers.Mariana‘s butterfly was stamped from the Healing Wings stamp set and used the backgrounds in the Garden Stamp Kiss set.
