• Embellish Squares Color Challenges :: Sponsored by Inchie Arts

Inchie Arts, LLC was started 3 years ago.  They make squares, but they’re quite different from other materials because they are made from the highest quality matte board in the marketplace today.  The “Inchie Squares” are solid core material, not paper stuck to cardboard or chipboard.  They work just like high quality art paper and can be colored with both wet and dry mediums from color pencils, pastels, watercolor paints, Copic markers to stains and dyes without warping or disintegrating.  And of course their thickness provides a perfect platform for embellishing!

Inchie Squares were originally introduced to rubber stampers for direct stamping and coloring, but are now widely used by mixed media and fine artists for their ‘art paper’ behavior.

Inchie Arts has a creative blog where you can find additional helpful information about Inchie Squares and get great inspiration on how to use them too.

This challenge requires you to create a project using the color challenge and squares.  There are many was to create projects using squares.  You can punch or die cut squares, add square embellishments, or even design a square card shape.  Don’t forget that squares can be incorporated into other paper craft ideas, including scrapbook layouts, mini albums, and other altered art.

The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image.  Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.

*White/Cream may be used as an additional neutral color.

    Don’t forget:

    1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and

    2. Use squares.

This design team never ceases to amaze me!  I know I can always count on them for true inspiration.  Using all sorts of “inchies” by Inchie Arts, Charlene, Maile, Mariana, Sarah, and Tina have showcased squares to their fullest potential. Everyone used the Inchie Squares in their own way, including heat embossing, stamping, coloring, fabric overlay, layering, inking, and even on a scrapbook layout!  These great squares can embellish any paper crafting project.  We hope we have inspired you to use your squares in creative ways too!

They have used the following Inchie Arts products: (1) black and white 1″ Inchie Squares, (2) 1.5″ Inchie Squares, (3) 2″ Twinchie Squares, and (2) green + purple inchie notes – 3.5″ square folded notecards.  Make sure you click on their photo or name to check out their blogs.  Many of the designers include valuable information about their projects, plus more inspiration is always available to check out!
