Embellish Background Stamping Color Challenge :: Sponsored by Skipping Stones Design
25 Comments »Posted in ChallengeSep 24, 2010
Read more »Skipping Stones Design (SSD) is a stamp company whose mission is to help paper crafters share the gift of laughter one stamp at a time. SSD started in 2005 and has a variety of stamps in their online store to attract all paper crafters. Their stamps are photopolymer high quality clear stamps and priced just right. On their blog, SSD challenges crafters with a sketch every week.

This challenge requires you to create a project using the color challenge and background stamping. Stamping a background is perfect to create your own custom patterned paper. Don’t forget that background stamping can be incorporated into other paper craft ideas, including scrapbook layouts, mini albums, and other altered art. We love to see all types of paper craft projects!
The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image. Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.
Don’t forget:
1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and
2. Use stamps to create a background/pattern.

This challenge requires you to create a project using the color challenge and paper piecing. Paper piecing is a fun technique to use for stampers. Projects can include color by using cardstock and/or patterned paper, instead of by coloring stamped images. Don’t forget that paper piecing can be incorporated into other paper craft ideas, including scrapbook layouts, mini albums, and other altered art.
The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image. Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.
*White/Cream + Brown/Black may be used as an additional neutral color.
Don’t forget:
1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and
2. Use paper piecing technique.
