• Embellish Background Stamping Color Challenge :: Sponsored by Skipping Stones Design

Skipping Stones Design (SSD) is a stamp company whose mission is to help paper crafters share the gift of laughter one stamp at a time.  SSD started in 2005 and has a variety of stamps in their online store to attract all paper crafters.  Their stamps are photopolymer high quality clear stamps and priced just right.  On their blog, SSD challenges crafters with a sketch every week.

This challenge requires you to create a project using the color challenge and background stamping.  Stamping a background is perfect to create your own custom patterned paper.  Don’t forget that background stamping can be incorporated into other paper craft ideas, including scrapbook layouts, mini albums, and other altered art.  We love to see all types of paper craft projects!

The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image.  Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.

    Don’t forget:

    1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and

    2. Use stamps to create a background/pattern.

You have until Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST to submit your entries below.

The photos used in the graphic are by McArthur & Ashley Newell.

Upload a photo of your project to your blog or online gallery, such as Splitcoaststampers, Flickr, or Papertrey Ink, then copy the direct link to your project to the embedded link widget below. If you do not have a direct link to your blog/gallery posting that features the challenge, your link may be deleted. If it is deleted, no biggie, just come back and re-link the correct link! Only links left in the link widget will be considered for challenge submissions.

If you miss the deadline, please do not link your posting in the comments area.

After the challenge ends, the design team will select six designers who created hot projects to highlight. The designers will be highlighted in a blog posting.  You can find all blog postings related to challenge winners in the drop down category menu on the right sidebar at the top, called “Embellish What’s Hot.” Additionally, there will be a designer who will be featured and will win Boo, Timeless Textures, and Wiseman. The winner must contact Embellish Magazine within 48 hours of the announcement. We reserve the right to select a new winner if the designer makes no contact.

The design team used Timeless Textures, Always Here, Dandelion Dreams and Healing Wings stamp sets to create their beautiful projects for this challenge.  Please take a moment to be inspired.
