• Embellish Vintage Color Challenge :: Sponsored by Pixie Petals

    120ad

Shoppe Pixiepetals offers blooms, bits, and bobs that are vintage and whimsical. Amongst the virtual shelves you can find vintage craft goodness, scrunched seam binding, crochet flowers, handcrafted embellishments, glittered chipboard, and homemade fabric brads.

This challenge requires you to create a vintage project using the color challenge.  Vintage is a new trend in interior design and of course paper crafting.  A vintage style can be showcased in a variety of ways, including inking edges, using old buttons, crocheted embellishments, and adding other antique elements.  Projects can include color by using cardstock and/or patterned paper, instead of by coloring stamped images.  Don’t forget that a vintage style can be incorporated into other paper craft ideas, including scrapbook layouts, mini albums, and other altered art.

The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image.  Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.

*White/Cream may be used as an additional neutral color.

    Don’t forget:

    1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and

    2. Create a vintage style project.

We reserve the right to select a new winner if the designer makes no contact.

Creating a vintage style can be difficult for those who usually steers clear of that design concept; however, the design team has really showcased it very well.  Despite a few grumbles, these ladies exemplify vintage at its best.  Take a peek at what they created using this very unique color combination and head on over to their blogs to get more information.  We all used some great items in Pixie Petal’s shoppe, including this flower and ribbon.
