Embellish Bags Color Challenge :: Sponsored by It’s in the Bag!
10 Comments »Posted in ChallengeNov 5, 2010
It’s in the Bag! is an online store featuring (4) different sizes of glassine bags, (4) different colors of paper sacks, windowed coffee bags, and new to the shoppe: jute and cotton twine! Shop It’s in the Bag! for all your packaging needs to make heartfelt and handcrafted gifts for every holiday and special occasion.

This challenge requires you to embellish a bag using the color challenge. Gift bags are a great way to package handmade items, food, or small finds for your friends, family or co-workers. You can use any type of bag and embellish it! Projects can include color by using cardstock and/or patterned paper, instead of by coloring stamped images. Don’t forget that a vintage style can be incorporated into other paper craft ideas, including scrapbook layouts, mini albums, and other altered art.
The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches. Keep the colors of your project as close to the colors in the challenge image. Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.
*White/Cream may be used as an additional neutral color.
Don’t forget:
1. Use the colors in the Polaroid-inspired color swatches (featured in the image above) and
2. Embellish a bag.
You have until Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST to submit your entries below.

After the challenge ends, the design team will select six designers who created hot projects to highlight. The designers will be highlighted in a blog posting. You can find all blog postings related to challenge winners in the drop down category menu on the right sidebar at the top, called “Embellish What’s Hot.” Additionally, there will be a designer who will be featured and will win a sampler from It’s In the Bag! including 5 of each bag currently in the shoppe and a jute and cotton twine sampling. The winner must contact Embellish Magazine within 48 hours of the announcement. We reserve the right to select a new winner if the designer makes no contact.
It’s in the Bag! has also offered all Embellish participants and readers a special shopping incentive. If you place an order November 5 – November 18, you will receive (10) small glassine bags in addition to your order. All you have to do is add “EMBELLISH” to the notes section of your order!

The design team really strutted their crafty stuff in this challenge. Check out how they created wonderful gift bags using glassine, lunch, and window coffee bags
