With most of the country experiencing winter weather, the cold season is finally here.  This challenge highlights the seasonal change and snowflakes.  To create a challenge out of the typical winter theme designs, I created a color combination that had a little brightness and a little darkness for balance.  You all have made some very pretty, cute, and amazing designs so far.  I hope more can join in on this fun while they wait for Santa this evening!  I even added some snowflake digital images in the previous post.  Here are some cards made by Charlene, Sarah, and myself.  We all wish each of our Embellish fans/challengers a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year.   We will return on January 1 with a new challenge and a new team!  The magazine will be revealed in the near future!  Thanks for your patience and enjoy the holidays.

This challenge wraps up what’s left of Autumn.  It seems like most of you all have definitely moved on to Christmas and the Winter season!  Don’t worry, we’ll be back tomorrow with a color combination and a feature that will inspire your holiday designs.  For this challenge, keeping it warm and outdoorsy was the focal point.  There are so many Autumn outdoor elements and leaves, acorns, and pine cones are just a few.  Earth tones are one of my personal favorite color choices, but then again, I really like them all!  I hope this challenge has inspired you to embrace earth tones and the outdoors.  Here are a few more cards that we hope will inspire you some more!  There is still time to make a thank you card for the hostess of a Thanksgiving dinner you attended!  Thanks for taking a peek and we hope you join us tomorrow for our last challenge for the year!

Embellish Leaves, Acorns, & Pine Cones

Are you stuffed?  What about leftovers?  Are you already planning on turkey salad and sandwiches?  Well, in between time, you can take a look and think about our next challenge. This challenge is inspired by the autumn season.  For this challenge, make sure you use all of the colors on any paper crafting design (i.e., card, scrapbook layout, mini book, tag, gift bag, box, etc.).  The main colors are highlighted in Polaroid inspired color swatches.  If you want additional direction on the actual colors, Papertrey Ink’s enchanted terracotta tile, dark chocolate, and ripe avocado are sample hues for this challenge.  Feel free to use other manufacturers, such as Stampin’ Up!’s night of really rust/dusty durango, chocolate chip, and old olive.  White or cream are optional color choices to add to your projects to create neutrality.  Remember, colors can be incorporated into your project in more ways than cardstock.  Don’t forget to incorporate the seasonal elements (leaves, acorns, and pine cones), please keep the color combination in mind.

Upload a photo of your project to your blog or online gallery, such as Splitcoaststampers, Flickr, or Papertrey Ink, then copy the direct link to your project to the Mr. Linky widget below.  If you do not have a direct link to your blog/gallery posting that features the challenge, your link may be deleted.  If it is deleted, no biggie, just come back and re-link the correct link!  Only links left in the Mr. Linky widget will be considered for challenge submissions.

We also have a Flickr Group available to share your projects.  Please add your projects to Embellish Magazine Flickr group.

If you want to use the graphic above, feel free to, but make sure you right-click and choose the “Save Image As” choice to save it to your computer, then upload to your blog!
